PART III
I have come to the conclusion
that from the time you say yes to Jesus you are in
school--not to learn the three R's. No. This
school consists of learning about God and His ways,
getting to know Him. I don't think you ever
graduate from this school either. You just keep on
learning how to be like Jesus, a life time project.
I guess you come to plateaus
with periods of reasonable tranquility, maybe. It
depends on how teachable or pliable you become in
the Potter's hands.
Just when you think you have
moved to a new level, you find yourself back at
square one, wondering if you will ever make the
grade. I don't know about you, but I doubt if I'll
ever learn anything without some hard lessons.
Sometimes I wonder why God
hasn't given up on such a hard-headed individual as
I have been. But He keeps on loving me and teaching
me things I need to know. The Bible says God looks
at the heart, so I guess He thinks I'm teachable. I
thank God for His mercy and kindness to me.
Part III consists of some early
lessons from before and after my trips to China.
One Scripture the Lord gave me
repeatedly is Jeremiah 6:16: This is what the Lord
says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for
the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and
walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."
My prayer is: "Oh Lord, keep me
on Your path." |
