PART II
Two years after my encounter
with Jesus, I came to a fork in the road. It was
time for a test. A 'put your money where your mouth
is' kind of test. I wasn't sure I could pass this
test because I'm such a coward.
One day God called me to go to
China. It really shook me up and I argued some,
but, deep down, I knew that if I didn't obey God in
this, He would put me on the shelf. So, even though
I was frightened out of my wits, my desire to serve
God was more important than all my fears.
Before I ever embarked on an
airplane headed for China, I put in two years of
preparation. It is true that God never calls you to
do something that He doesn't put you through a
series of lessons to equip you for the assignment.
I wasn't at all thrilled with
some of these lessons, but my desire to please God
prevailed. Oh, I wavered now and then, but I am not
a person to quit, so I pressed on.
I thank the Lord for not giving
up on me. I suppose I shaped up enough for the trip
because the day finally came when I did fly away to
China on a mission for God.
It was a journey full of
adventure and intrigue. Watching God perform
miracle after miracle just about took my breath
away! I will be forever grateful to God for
choosing me to be a Bible courier. The experience
dramatically changed my perspective on life. I knew
I would never be the same again. |
