LEARNING TO SOAR

COME NOW AND DRAW NEAR

"I am the good Shepherd..."  John 10:11a

One night I was feeling like a complete failure.  After tossing and turning in my bed for hours, I cried out, "Oh Jesus, please come and comfort me.  How can I go on?"  Immediately I heard Jesus say, "Come and climb up on my lap.  I'll hug you and sing a song to you and that wounded little girl inside you."  Then I heard Jesus singing in a deep melodious voice:

Hush-a-bye, My little one, I'll wipe away each tear
Hush-a-bye, My precious one, come now and draw near.
Your heartaches will melt away along with all your fears
Hush your crying, little one, draw near

I'll dress you like a princess in ruffle and pearl
And wrap around your shoulders a righteous robe so pure
Oh, hear me calling, little one; come now and draw near
I love you, My precious one, so dear!

All your shame is washed away; do you understand?
So come now, My little one, take My hand
I'll lead you o're the mountain and thru the valley wide
Jesus, your Shepherd, is always by your side!

So, hush-a-bye, My little one, I'll wipe away each tear
Hush-a-bye, My precious one, come now and draw near
I love you, My little one, so dear
Jesus, your Shepherd, bids you, come now and draw near!

I sat on by bed for the longest time drinking in the words as the song kept echoing through my mind.  I whispered, "Oh, Jesus, You are so good to me.  Thank You for comforting me and caring about my pain.  I choose to believe what You say about me."

I can never be a failure as long as I keep looking to Jesus to guide me on my journey through life.  Times of tears and trials may darken the horizon, but I have the assurance that Jesus, my Shepherd, will never leave me nor forsake me.

HALLELUJAH!

John 10:27 says, "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand."
